Take this opportunity to visit Sintra, where we suggest a visit to the Palácio Nacional da Pena.
This monument is the most complete and notable example of Portuguese Romantic architecture. Built about 500 meters, the architecture of the Palácio da Pena uses the "motives" Moorish, Gothic and Manueline, but also the Wagnerian spirit of Schinkel castles in Central Europe.

In return, you can enjoy the beautiful panorama of the Estoril Coast, a scenic view that is sure to dazzle!

Thursday, 3 October 2013 Walking Tour of Alfama

We will visit the Lisbon Se (Cathedral) and afterwards continue our tour walking to one of the Alfama viewpoints – the Santa Luzia, from where we will enjoy a splendid view of the eastern part of Alfama and the Tejo River.

From the view point our walk will take us to the “Castelo St Jorge”, founded in the 10th and 11th centuries, when Lisbon was an important Moorish port. In 1147, the first king of Portugal, Dom Afonso Henriques, captured both the castle and the city from the Moors. It was here that the king Dom Manuel I received Vasco da Gama after his sea voyage to India in the 16th century.
