Special Conference Report: Seamless Government | Anticipating Citizens’ Needs

This conference report summarizes the findings from the 53rd ICA Conference during which participating CIOs, International Organizations and experts from around the world shared knowledge and best practices on how to address citizen and business life events in the most inclusive, transparent, secure and fastest manner.

We looked into the proactive personalisation of Government services and concluded that every citizen’s need can be addressed in an advanced flexible system. When you promote cross-agency and cross-border collaboration and exchange of information, you will have fast results and a better understanding of citizen needs while ensuring security and inclusiveness.

Combating Misinformation: An Ecosystem in Co-creation

Long before the prominence of the concept of misinformation, the value of factual information and how it affects the public has been a topic of discussion. As we entered the age of social media, public institutions such as government agencies, decided to massively adopt their use. 

Today’s large flows of information create new challenges for government administrations. Digital disruption through misinformation, the main challenges and potential solutions for governments and citizens are examined in this report by ICA, eGovlab of Stockholm University, the Open University in UK and the OECD.

Insights and Guidance on Delivering Citizen Services through Open Data and Citizen Centric Design

Over the past year, the International Council for Information Technology in Government Administration (ICA) and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) have worked together to address the impact that governments’ wealth of data and use of new human centric design techniques have had in the development of public services.

ICA and OECD along with the valuable assistance from members and staff have created a publication which brings together information gathered from two recent events held by the two Organizations; OECD’s Working Party of Senior Digital Government (E-Leaders) in September 2016 and ICA’s annual conference in October of 2016.
