Innovative Government – Learning from the Past, Looking to the Future - Taipei, Taiwan 12th - 14th October, 2011

ICA provides officials in national governments with a vehicle for addressing the key issues and emerging policies related to the development and implementation of e-Government and remains an international forum to support senior managers in the formulation of policies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of government administration.

ICA therefore does not sit on the sidelines with respect to the Information Society. We are an interconnected world where each of us must play a role in shaping the vision and collaborating across jurisdictions.

The 21st Century is truly a time of opportunity for government as the global community becomes a reality. At our 45th Conference ICA met and once again had the opportunity to learn from and leverage the success of others.

Each year ICA's officers identify an issue of vital importance in the realization of its objectives as the theme for its Annual Conference. The 2011 theme ‘Innovative Government – Learning from the past, Looking to the Future’ offered delegates time to network with each other over four days in Taipei, Taiwan.

From October 12 to 14, 2011 more than 20 speakers, including guest Keynote speakers, from some 16 countries shared their e-Government experience and innovations, while delegates from around the world added to their knowledge and wisdom on important issues.

After the ICA 45th Conference in Taipei, Mr. Frank McDonough, USA, who is a long standing colleague of the ICA, summarized the highlights and published an article in Federal Computer Week, titled “International Meeting Shows Universality of IT Priorities”. The article features IT directions for member countries such as Canada, Taiwan, Estonia, Israel, and the United States and is available at:  http://fcw.com/articles/2011/12/09/frank-mcdonough-taiwan.aspx?sc_lang=en
We look forward to the ICA’s 46th Conference in Israel.
