DAWSON, Ms. Jennifer Deputy Chief Information Officer of the Government of Canada Tuesday, September 12th 11:30 - 13:00 | Session III: Government Update | Session Speaker Ms Dawson is an Assistant Deputy Minister at the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, and a lead on government-wide efforts related to digital policy, security, service to Canadians, open government, and the modernization of the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act. Previously, Ms Dawson was Executive Director in a program sector at TBS, where she led a team of analysts advising Treasury Board ministers on departmental submissions. Until 2014, she was Infrastructure Canada’s Chief Information Officer, and before that was Director General of Communications. She has also served as Executive Director to the Deputy Minister of Transport Canada, responsible for Portfolio Management. In addition to more than 15 years as a public service manager, Ms Dawson has a decade of experience in the public sector and non-profit sector, primarily in electronic publishing and public communications. She holds a Bachelor of Science from University College London, as well as diploma in museum studies.
