As the Chief Information Officer at the Department of Justice Canada, Marj is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of Information Management, Information Technology and Library services to the Department. Marj works in close partnership with all lines of business in Justice and colleagues across the Government of Canada to promote a modern management vision and framework to meet the challenges and capitalize on the opportunities presented by the continually changing information and digital era.

Prior to joining the Department, Marj was the Executive Director of the Community and Collaboration Division within the CIO Branch of the Treasury Board Secretariat. She played a leading role in the evolution of the Government of Canada wiki (GCPEDIA) and the use of Web 2.0 in Government while also supporting functional community development in the Information Management, Information Technology and ATIP Communities.

From 2005-2010, Marj was the Chief Information Officer at Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) where she led the implementation of collaborative technologies and the Government of Canada’s first departmental wiki which initiated a cultural change in the way the department creates, shares and stores information.

Marj has more than 30 years of information management and technology experience in the government and private sector. She holds an MBA from Queen's University and a Computer Science diploma from Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta
